COLLEEN HELLER  is a self-taught henna artist. She first was introduced to the art of Mehndi on Hilton Head Island in 1998, and soon after, moved to Edison, NJ where she perfected her art after visiting many of the shops in the Little India section of nearby Iselin, NJ. 

Her specialty is freehand application using henna cones she makes herself.  She enjoys the traditional Indian and Arabic designs as well as flowing, flowery designs.  Her influences include Kenzi, Amira, Jessica McQueen, Darcy V, Kim Brennan, Joan Kovatch, Jr, Catherine Cartwright-Jones, Kristina Haberek, Kiran Gilbran, & Nick Cartier.

She began doing henna professionally after moving to Richmond, VA in 2002.  She is an Internationally Certified Artist of Natural Henna Arts and a member of the Face Painting and Body Art Association.  She is also a mother of two, and a music teacher.

Since February 2009 - she is the in-house henna artist at River City Tattoo and River City Body Piercing, with locations on the Boulevard, at Virginia Center Commons, Chesterfield Towne Center and Regency Square Mall.  She is also a vendor with The Market Umbrella, and at Quirk Gallery every First Friday for Artwalk!
