AFTERCARE

·          Allow paste to dry 10-20 minutes without touching.  A lemon-sugar solution will be applied to enhance stain.

·          Leave on without picking off as long as possible, 5 to 6 hours is ideal - and do not get wet for about 12 hours.

·          Henna will stain clothing and bed sheets, so pick off remaining paste before going to bed if this is a concern.

·          It is normal for henna to flake off as it dries.  The design will appear as a bright orange stain, which will darken to a brownish red over the next 24-36 hours.   It is normal for the stain to not be very dark on some skin tones - it takes time to oxidize to it's full color.

·          Put olive oil or cocoa butter on design before and after bathing to prolong your tattoo.  Aquaphor or A & D ointment will protect it from chlorinated water.

·          Avoid scrubbing area when bathing, long soaks in the tub or lotions with hydroxy-acids.

·          All skin types are different.  Rarely, it may not stain at all on certain skin.

·          Henna will stain darkest  on hands, wrists, inner arms, ankles and feet and for people with warm skin.  Henna stains less darkly on backs, shoulders and bellies.

·          My henna paste is handmade fresh by me, using only henna powder, lemon juice, sugar and organic essential oils.  It NEVER contains PPD, which can be toxic and is found in black ‘henna’. (See Dangers of 'Black Henna'.
